I've left it for too long
So much has happened in the time between my last entry into Epiphany and this one... I'm not certain where to start really.
Well the research proposal that was due on August 6 went belly-up, a learning experience in and of itself. At one level I am disappointed by the outcome and on another level I'm relieved because I don't think I need the additional pressure of more work. I think that if the same group of researchers come together again, they will think of including me in the team and so overall the outcome is a positive one.
Family life has been hellish and its really best just to leave it there, I think I am over the worst of it now. Mind you, I managed a weekend trip to Brisbane for my sister's birthday and that was a delicious interlude. I also managed to organise and set up Mum's new PC last night, which was fun... well, her pleasure in the new computer was the fun part.
I've been doing heaps of training, most about structuring and writing a dissertation or on themes related to that such as 'tricks' of the trade when collecting data.
I met my supervisor for feedback yesterday on Chapter 1 and she was pleased with my first draft, although, of course, there are still heaps of changes to make to it. I began drafting Chapter 2 this week and that seems to be progressing nicely. The plan is to write up the first three chapters, then analyse and validate my model and perhaps draft Chapter 4, while I wait for ethics approval to conduct stage two of the project . I'll start data collection during the summer I guess.
The CD is progressing quite well. The next stage is to do some work with video editing technicians do discuss the rough edits Jan and I worked through.
I'm still going to gym every second day, though it doesn't get any easier. Maybe I just don't have the kind of personality that enjoys sweat :P
It's been kind of a long day, so I think I might have a scotch and ice... yum
