Data analysisData analysis is slower in some ways than I thought. Its really quite a detailed process, but it is interesting. I'm finding that I need think much more than anything else, thought I am also reading a really useful book about the nuts and bolts of how to do it as I work. Right now I am busily synthesising my 50 or so themes into a maximum of 30 and absorbing a lot about qualitative research theories in general.
I was also granted 12 weeks paid retrospective sick leave for the car accident, which has been incredible. My end date has changed as a result. It makes me feel much happier than before. At the moment I am also in the middle of producing an interim progress report for the Uni because they were concerned by health might affect my thesis. In May, I will apply for another 6 month extension to my scholarship so I can get funded until November. Afterwards, who knows what will happen. I hope to finish the dissertation by December, so I guess I will need a job or to apply for unemployment benefits for a while.
There have been no responses to the survey, so I will need to send reminder letters out next week. If that doesn't work, then I will need to re-think my recruitment strategy.
